I’m in Redmond for a few days teaching two days of advanced ASP.NET, followed by a day of ASP.NET AJAX and a day of Silverlight (the first Silverlight course offered here at Microsoft internally). The weather is cold and rainy and I’m fighting off an awful cold. Still, I’m having a heck of a good time and really look forward to the Silverlight course on Thursday.

Saturday afternoon I had the thrill of taking my 10-year-old daughter to the Hannah Montana concert. In case you don’t know Hannah Montana, she is the alter ego of Miley Cyrus, who is the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus and who has her own TV show on the Disney Channel. She is all the rage among young girls right now. The first half of the concert was featured Miley dressed as Hannah complete with blonde Hannah Montana wig, and the second half of the concert featured Miley as Miley. It’s a little scary, but I actually enjoyed the music. So did the audience. If you’ve never heard 10,000 pre-teen girls screaming at the same time, well, you had to be there. My ears are still ringing.

My son is 17 years old and will be off to college in less than two years. My daughters are 14 and 10. At this stage of my life, I’m trying to make all the memories I can while I can. Saturday night was one I won’t forget. I’ll wager it’s one my daughter won’t forget, either.
