The long-awaited Windows 10 Anniversary Update is not only available for PC, Xbox and—starting August 16—mobile. There’s also a Windows IoT Core upgrade that will work on Raspberry Pi 3.

Developers working on Internet-of-Things projects with the affordable, credit-card-sized maker board can now enjoy an easier set-up experience and other new features, according to Microsoft.

Among the improvements:

  • Better integration with Arduino hardware
  • Windows IoT Remote Client allows you to view and control everything on your IoT device from a desktop or phone
  • Integration with Windows Store
  • Support for 8GB cards

The new Windows IoT Core will also work on other maker boards like DragonBoard 410c and MinnowMax, according to Coinspeaker.

Microsoft has been showcasing some innovative Windows IoT Core/Raspberry Pi projects on its website, including a simple wheeled robot and a mini weather station.
