As you can see, our new Web site is finally live. It has been in the works for many months, and a lot of people put in a lot of time to make it happen. The look was designed by Kevin Goldman, an independent Web designer in Seattle who’s a favorite of ours and of the ASP.NET team. Kevin crafted the beautiful UIs featured in Microsoft’s ASP.NET starter kits.

The site is driven by ASP.NET 2.0 (or course!), and it leverages many of the best features of 2.0, including master pages, membership, role management, and profiles. Although you can’t see it, the site has a separate (and secure) back-end admin interface that allows Sara Faatz and her marketing team to make content changes without involving a webmaster or getting bogged down in HTML. The goal was to make the site as self-maintaining as possible.

We spent much of yesterday ironing out the inevitable wrinkles that occurred when we pushed the site out to our production Web server. Most of the fixes have been made, although we still have some work to do on the blog engine. If you encounter bugs, let us know. We’re also interested in your feedback on the site’s look and feel.

Many thanks to Sara Faatz, Bethany Jones, Justin Smith, Paul Ballard, Kevin Goldman, Mark Kovalcson, and everyone else who had a hand in designing and implementing the new site!
