I came across this picture of an F-16 coming out of a split-S at an airshow. The pic was taken just before the jet crashed (the pilot performed the maneuver with too little altitude), and you can see the canopy flying off and the pilot ejecting:

Fortunately, the pilot incurred only minor injuries. He sure wasted a lot of jet, though.
