John, Jeffrey, and I are in Austin, TX this week along with a contingent of other folks from Wintellect for Devscovery. The conference is sold out and we’re having a blast teaching .NET and hanging out with the attendees at after-hours events. One of the new things we’re trying is offering scheduled 1-on-1 time with the speakers. So far it has worked extremely well, and the attendees seem happy to take advantage.

In addition to featuring a world-class music scene made famous by Austin City Limits (Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others, is from Austin), Austin has some of the best barbecue anywhere. My favorite Austin barbecue spot is Rudy’s. I’ve eaten there twice this week. The first night John practically had to roll me out of the restaurant. Tonight I practiced the art of moderation and limited myself to a half-pound of ribs.

I work most of the day tomorrow and fly home tomorrow night. Sunday I head back out to Redmond to do some taping in MSN Studios. I have a lot of work to do to finish preparing for Monday’s and Tuesday’s tapings, so Friday and Saturday promise to be all work and no play. Just as well considering that the warm weather we’ve enjoyed these past few weeks is supposed to give way to an Arctic cold front Friday. At least I won’t be tempted to skip work and go flying.
